WHAT, WHERE, WHEN Set to be held at BolognaFiere from 4 to 8
December 2009, the 34th Bologna Motor Show will occupy a total of 8 halls and
will take visitors on a trip through various aspects of the world of motoring:
safety, green solutions, sport, vintage models, tuning and car audio. All of
the external areas of the expo zone will be used to carry out product tests and
the MotorSport Arena will provide the stage for a series of exciting races and
exhibitions.
CAR MAKERS The Quattroruote space will play host to 15 car
makers, with a special focus on the latest models: Alfa Romeo, BMW, Citroën,
DR, Fiat, Ford, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes, Mini, Opel, Porsche, Smart, Suzuki and
Toyota. In addition, the Motor Show will see the Italian debut of Gonow Europe
and the worldwide debut of Tazzari Zero and of the low-environmental-impact
vehicles made by VEM and Officine Meccaniche Burato.
FERRARI The Quadriportico area will be awash with
Ferrari’s distinctive shade of red, where visitors will have the opportunity to
get up close and personal with a selection of the Maranello-based marque’s
racing cars. The whole of Saturday 5 December will be dedicated to Ferrari,
when the MotorSport Arena will play host to a breathtaking pit-stop of its F1
as well as several other events showcasing its magnificent Granturismo cars,
including the 430s in the Ferrari Challenge (Pirelli Trophy and Shell Cup) and
the eagerly awaited Ferrari FXX Event.
MOTO RACING PADDOCK
SHOW This all-new trade-fair
initiative will give visitors the opportunity to meet the teams that take part
in motorcycle competitions. This event will feature the hospitality facilities
and racing bikes used by a plethora of leading teams, including Ducati (Moto GP
and Superbike), Team Gresini (Honda Moto GP) and Team LCR (Honda Moto GP).
CAR RACING PADDOCK
SHOW Hall 29 will offer an
immersion into the world of four-wheeled competition, where visitors will be
able to meet the teams that participate in rally races, track races, ascents
and off-road events. Visitors will have the opportunity to admire the Aston
Martin GT3 of the European Championship-winning Open GT Villois team and the
Audi R8GT3 of Dindo Capello and Giorgio Sanna from the Audi Sport Italia team.
Also on display will be the Ford Focus WRC with which the
gone-but-not-forgotten champion Colin McRae triumphed at the 2001 Argentina
Rally. In the off-road section, R-team Rallyart will exhibit the cars that
finished first and second in the Tout Terrain Italian Championship. Last of
all, ACI-Csai will have its own stand with a selection of vehicles.
EXTERNAL AREAS The Motor Show will feature 7 external areas –
Quattroruote, Subaru, Bridgestone, ACI, the Italian Ministry of Transport &
Infrastructure and FMI, Tractor Pulling and the MotorSport Arena - where
visitors will have the opportunity to try the latest products from the car
makers, take part in two-wheeled and four-wheeled safe-driving courses
alongside the instructors from some of Italy’s leading professional driving
schools and witness a wealth of spectacular races and exhibitions.
MOTOR VALLEY A unique pavilion dedicated to the Motor Valley
will showcase the centres of two- and four-wheeled excellence that the Emilia
Romagna region has to offer. In addition, there will be a programme of 6
exclusive tours reserved for motoring fanatics that will make it possible to
learn all about the area’s industrial and sporting traditions, from the early
years to the present day.
SPORTING CHAMPIONS Valentino Rossi will be taking part in the
Findomestic Memorial Bettega – set to be held on 7 and 8 December – on board
his Ford Focus WRC. Fighting it out with him will be FIA WRC World Rally
Champions Petter Solberg and Marcus Gronholm, FIA Junior WRC World Rally Champion
Sébastien Ogier and FIA WRC World Rally Championship 2009 runner up Mikko
Hirvonen. Other leading motorcycle champions will go head-to-head in the
Yokohama Superbikers Drifting contest, at the wheel of Ford Mustangs prepared
by Gandin Motors and featuring Yokohama tyres. The names already confirmed
include Andrea Dovizioso, Mattia Pasini, Andrea Iannone and Loris Reggiani.
MOTOR SHOW CLUB By signing up to become members of the Motor Show
Club, visitors purchasing an entry voucher book will receive a discount on a
new Linear insurance policy, a pre-paid 3 Italia telephone card, concessions on
motorway tolls with Telepass and ERG fuel bonuses. The voucher book also
includes concessions on other major brands such as Coca Cola and Mediaset
Premium.
